I am a professional guitarist, singer, composer, label owner, promoter, booker, marketer, techy, former club and theatre owner, and a talker. I have been going strong at all of the above for 50 years. Through all of these years I have always attempted to stay current with the constant evolution of the business of music. I talk with with artists, venue owners, students, professors, fans, and friends on a daily basis to answer questions, give opinions, advise, and consult about the industry and craft of music. After all of these years I don't feel like I have any special insight but do know I have had a "hell" of a lot of experiences in all of the above. I have decided to write a blog about a lot of the experiences with the hope that it can in some way help others in their quest of being music artists and industry professionals to advance their careers and brands. Along with this I am opening up a way for those that would like to discuss questions, thoughts, feelings, about these things to do that with me. I will try and categorize areas between business and story telling for you. PLEASE NOTE as Jimi Hendrix said "I have tire tracks all up and down my back" so take it all with a "grain of salt"! .
